Deep freeze in California
Det har varit kallt i västra USA under en vecka nu och det har inte varit bra för odlingarna i Kalifornien av avocado, citrusfrukter osv.
Läste på FOXnews att 3/4 av citrusodlingarna förstörts i den senaste veckans kyla men även avocados och blommor har tagit stryk. Kalifornien är USAs största producent av färska citrusfrukter. 
Det här kommer troligen att märkas snart i affärerna och priserna kommer att gå upp. En av mina favoriter är avocados, så det är bäst att passa på och äta medan de är relativt billiga.
Att kunna äta färska citrusfrukter är något som man som svensk inte är bortskämd med. Jag minns när jag var i Los Angeles och hälsade på några vänner och blev erbjuden ett glas färskpressad apelsinjuice. De hade ett apelsinträd i sin "backyard" och kunde gå ut och plocka färska apelsiner. Det glaset med apelsinjuice var bland det godaste jag smakat.

Ja, jag älskar också avocados! Dem är ju redan så himla dyra. Undrar hur dyra dem kommer att bli sen?
Håller med om att citrusfrukter är mkt goda här. Direkt fr Kalifornien eller Florida.
Igen, konstigt väder överallt denna mycket underliga vinter. Nu har vi åtminstone fått lite kyla! Njuter!
Åh, det kan jag tänka mig. Att den färskpressade apelsinen direkt från trädgården smakade nåt extra. Jag får alltid nåt drömskt i blicken när jag ser program eller bilder på folks trädgårdar där ett apelsinträd eller citronträd står på gården. Vore inte helt fel att ha det så.
